The End of Doggie Watch...Doggie watch is coming to an end today. We've had a great time swimming every day on mom's pool and playing with the dogs. But we are ready to get back to our house.

Jacob got enrolled for school last week and he got to tour the school on Tuesday. That did a lot to ease his nerves about a new school. He told me, "Mom, now I feel more comfortable. I could see myself and feel comfortable in any of the second grade classrooms." Yea! Meet the Teacher night is on the 21st. That will also help him to feel ready when school starts.

Here are a couple of pictures that John took of the kids at our neighborhood spraypark a couple of weeks ago. We swam and had a picnic lunch that day. What a fun thing to have right in your neighborhood.

Doggie Watch, Day 3...Things are going good over at my mom and dad's house. The dog's have settled in. My mom is hoping I can keep them sleeping through the night so that once she gets home, it will continue. Ha! I sleep hard. Mom doesn't. All it takes is one doggie staring at her...ha! The kids are loving swimming in the backyard everyday. In between watering, swim time, doggie duties, I have been spending a lot of time on my internet projects since we have been without internet for a few weeks now. Finally got everything hooked up this last Thursday so I will be in good shape once I get home again.

I have a ton of pictures of the kids to post but they are loaded on the home computer so that will be coming up soon.

Doggie Watch 2008...The kids and I are staying at my mom and dad's for a few days to take care of their dogs, water plants, etc. while they are gone to my stepdad's 50th high school reunion. WOW! My 20th is next summer and I felt like that was a long time. But this is not a bad gig...the kids LOVE having a swimming pool in the backyard. I have a feeling we will be waterlogged by the time we leave. Ha!

Moving, Moving, Moving...D-day is in sight. The kids and I are back in Healdton packing up our stuff and will go back to TX tomorrow. The POD is being delivered Tuesday so we will then be official residents of Ft. Worth. Yea! It'll be like Christmas to get all our stuff back. John has been working his tail-feathers off, bless his heart. And the kids and I along with my mom have been cleaning the new house and getting stuff ready for move in. The kids have also been getting some good swim practice at my mom and dad's in Dallas. Jacob can now jump in anywhere and swim across the pool. Julia can swim really short distance in the shallow end where she can touch if she needs to. They have a great time with their new swim goggles looking at everything and everyone under water. Ha!

Stopped by my friend, Kristin Littlefield's, house last night on our way back to Healdton. Her husband, Scott, cooked us a yummy dinner and we got a chance to chat and the kids to play and run wild. It was a nice diversion and good fellowship. I am so glad to be back close to my sweet friend!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!...Hope everyone is having a safe and happy 4th of July! I've spent most of the morning thinking about our troops serving all over the world now and in the past. They have sacrificed so much for us to be safe and enjoy everyday things such as hotdogs, firework shows, snow cones, and sparklers. No thanks is ever big enough. God bless them and keep them in your prayers that they can return home safely to enjoy these everyday blessings.

The kids and I are celebrating a quite holiday. John can't be with us but we are making the best of it. Today we are just hanging out but tonight we will be enjoying sloppy joes, snow cones, sparklers, and a fireworks show out at Lake Healdton. Might even get there in time for the Little Miss Firecracker Pageant...ha! Probably not since we don't know anyone in Healdton but it'll be fun to see all the festivities over the water of the lake.

Monday, the kids and I head back to TX to start prepping our new house for move in the following week. The kids can't wait! And I have to admit that I am just as excited as they are. I think I really am just a kid at heart.

Well, that's it for now.
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!

We Closed on our house!...Yea! The deed is done. John has been a superstar dealing with the VA, lenders, mortgage people, etc. and as of 5pm today, we closed on our house and will begin to move in over the next couple of weeks. Yea!
