Live Musicians on Film...

This was their 1st and 2nd days with their new guitars.

The Rock Star and The Johnny Cash Wanna-Be...As of this weekend, Julia and Jacob are proud owners of their very own REAL guitars! Each guitar is kid sized but a REAL guitar. They each have great sound. The kids are SO excited and are really having a lot of fun with them. Julia found hers while shopping with her Dad at the music store. It was LOVE at first sight and she could not bear to leave with out it. It is a beautiful pink color with a heart-shaped hole in the middle. Gorgeous! Daddy caved...ha! They have had a blast with it playing songs at bedtime. And the next day, Jacob went back with John and picked out his guitar. It is shiny black and he keeps referring to himself as Johnny Cash...ha! I can't believe he even knows who that is! But both of them are having a lot of fun and it'll be great if they actually stick with it and look back in years to come at their first REAL guitars.

Home Again~...The kids and I got home late last night from a last minute trip to Arkansas to see my Grandpa Tinsley before he had surgery on Wednesday.  We had a nice visit with him and a bonus of getting to see some cousins, other grandparents, as well.  Pictures will come soon.  We got word yesterday that his surgery went well.  Yea!  What a relief!  Both of his carotid arteries were blocked 75-83%.  They cleaned out one artery and will do the other in 6-8 weeks.  This was a very risky surgery for him so we are all thanking God it went so well.  Please keep him in your prayers as there is still more to come.  But it is good to be home!

Another First...Although Jacob has lost teeth before, this time he managed to lose his 6th tooth AT SCHOOL! And I don't just mean it came out of his mouth, it was also LOST somewhere before he could get home from school with it. So, we've decided we will write the tooth fairy a letter and see if she will still leave money. What an entrepreneur!

Miscellaneous Pics...

On the left...a little protection was needed from big brother during a particularly scary part of a Scooby Doo show...ha!

On the right...snuggle time with dad. Sweet!

Funny Pics from the last few days...

On Thursday, Julia got to go out for Dad/Daughter time alone. For the first time, she got to got to Nathan's Franks (one of Jacob's favorite destinations) for a corn dog and playing games. Her favorite games had to do with frog's, basketball, and crocodiles. But she managed to win this lovely pink crown with her tickets. When asked to pose for a picture in it, she displayed the characteristics of Comedy/Tragedy in less than 30 seconds...yep, she's a girl!

The top pictures are when they were getting ready to leave for Nathan's Franks. It was a whopping 17 degrees out (with a -1 wind chill) so they were bundled up to face the elements. They are so crazy about each other!

More Goofy New Year's Pics...

New Year's Eve...No Time Square and crazy crowds for the Elliott Family. We had our own fun at home eating pizza, making "Polka Dot" cupcakes (although the kids did decide to add sprinkles, too.), wear party hats, blow horns, throw confetti streamers around, and watch kid movies. Jacob and I even managed to stay up until 11:35pm...ha! Somehow at that point we were both so tired that seeing the ball drop in Time Square didn't seem that important...ha! Regrets? None. Sleep is precious. And today the remaining confetti streamers are being used as bird nests for Julia and her stuffed animals. It is always the little things that are so amusing. Happy New Year!

The rest of the day will be spent watching football, eating the last of the fattening food, and taking down Christmas decorations. Always a little sad to take down the Christmas tree since I LOVE twinkly lights but I am ready to clean up our small space and find everything a storage home. Until next year...
