Busy Weekend...The kids were out of school on Friday for Parent/Teacher Conferences so we managed to action pack those days off. Friday afternoon, Jacob's friend, Trenton, came over to play for a few hours. Saturday morning the kids and I went for haircuts and to pick out winter coats (just in the nick of time, I might add...). That afternoon we watched our sad OSU/TX football game with accompanying football food and then carved our jack o lantern that night. Jacob drew several faces for us to choose from and we ultimately pick the Frankenstein face. It was Jacob and Julia's favorite plus a face that mom felt she could draw and carve on a pumpkin...ha! Sunday, we went to church and then Sunday evening Jacob's friend, Logan, from school went with us to the Halloween Festival in our neighborhood. Lots of fun but by Sunday evening, mom was WORN out!

Scarecrow Day...Julia had Scarecrow Day at school last week. All the kids dressed up like scarecrows. They were all so cute. I had to explain to Julia what a scarecrow even was. But, decked out in a plain shirt borrowed from Jacob, rolled up jeans, a straw hat, and raffia tied around her wrists and ankles, she was ready to go scare some crows. They had a great time learning about fall and eating pizza for lunch. Woo hoo!

Pumpkin Patch...Here is a picture John took the other day when he took the kids to the Pumpkin Patch. They came home with several pumpkins and gourds that I have had fun decorating the house with. The kids got to jump in a bouncy house. Think we might carve the big one into a Jack 'O Lantern this weekend. Our neighborhood is having their Halloween Festival this Sunday night so that might be fun to go to.

Whirlwind Trip...Thursday morning, the kids and I loaded up with our friends, Kristin, and her boys, Barrett and Patrick, to head down to Fredericksburg, TX to see Mimi and PaPa. We had a fun trip down and all the kids enjoyed seeing Mimi and PaPa with their 2 dogs, Dojo and Lacy. We loaded up some furniture they were saving for me that will look beautiful in our new house and even managed to squeeze in dinner at a German restaurant, Auslander, and lunch at the Fredericksburg Brewery. Yum! Fredericksburg is so a pretty town with lots of site seeing left to do on our next trip down.

Pictures from Klaire's Party...

The Land 'O Birthday Parties...We had a long weekend filled with birthday parties. Apparently most of the children in Julia's class have their birthdays within a 6 week period of time. Lots of fun! Saturday, we went to Chuck E. Cheese for her friend, Myles, birthday. Jacob loves it because he gets the benefit of going to all these parties, too. Julia and Myles were inseparable. So cute!

Monday was spent for a total of 4 hours at the doctor's office trying to get Julia in for her ear infections. Can't get the antibiotics until the doctor checks her out. But we made up for all that monotony by going to Klaire's birthday party at Jump for Fun and onto McD's for a little Happy Meal and playground action. Jump for Fun was amazing! I had never seen anything like it. It was this big warehouse with tons of blow up bouncy houses and slides that went all the way to the ceiling. It was awesome! The consensus from my kids was it was even better than Chuck E. Cheese. Now, THAT is saying something!

Yesterday, I spent at KISD Substitute Orientation. They should have all my paperwork processed and my id done within the next 10 days so that I can start substituting. Yea! Bring it on!

Fancy Nancy and Scooby Doo and the Gang...John and Jacob had "Man" Day yesterday. One of their stops was at Target where Jacob got to take a picture

OSU vs. Texas A & M...For those of you who haven't heard, OSU ROCKS this season!!! So far....just don't want to jinx it...ha! John's friend, Paul, flew in last Friday night from PA and he and John went to the OSU/TX A & M game in Stillwater. They had a really good time and just enjoyed catching up and hanging out. Here are a few snapshots from the game...
