Julia's First Eye Shadow...Well, after much haggling, Julia now is the proud owner of real eye shadow. She love, love, loves to dress up! So, we found some shimmery vanilla eye shadow that she can wear to dress up or from time-to-time. I gave in this morning since it was new and let her wear it to school. So cute and simply hilarious!

Julia and Loren...Here are a few pictures John took of Julia and Loren when they played together at our house on Tuesday. I call them "Driving Miss Daisy I and II". They look guilty of something in most of the pictures...ha!

Days Blurring Together...It has been one of those weeks when you realize you have been super busy but when you look back you can't always recall what it is you have been doing...ha! Sunday night we had bible study and started a new study called Foundations which is all about helping you understand the bible and utilize best. Monday was school picture day for Julia and Staff Appreciation Day at Jacob's school so I helped out with that. Plus, we are celebrating Earth Day all week at Jacob's school so there has been something to coordinate each day for that. Yesterday we kept our next door neighbors kids for several hours while they had the Open House for his medical practice's new location. The kids had a ball and it is hilarious to watch them interact and the funny things they say. And today I am substitute teaching this afternoon for a music class at one of the local elementary schools. Should be fun! But the big thing I have been working on is trying to coordinate all the information for me to get started on obtaining my TX Teaching Certificate so I can become an elementary or intermediate school teacher. So much info to wade through. Very exciting and a little scary, too. But I am going to strive to make my first attempt at the TExES test (teaching exam) on June 27th is that is the next occurrence. They only have the test 3 or 4 times a year so everyone has advised me to start taking it the earliest opportunity I can. So, lots to do the next couple of months. Plus, I will be taking care of my friend, Pam's, daughters 3 days a week this summer for extra income. Something tells me this year is going to go by in an even bigger blur than usual...ha! Wish me luck!

Elliott Week In Review...A week ago Monday, the kids and I enjoyed a nice visit from mom/dad, my sister, Monica, with husband, Jack, and nephew's, Henry and Calvin. We missed seeing Ellis but know he is having fun in college up in Nebraska. Pa Pere treated us to a yummy mexican dinner at El Paseo. It was nice to catch up and hilarious to watch Julia as she quizzed our waiter about how much he liked his job. He was quite amused!

Friday night, our good friend's, Lance and Amy, came over for dinner and brought their kids along with Amy's sister, Julie, visiting from Kentucky. She was so nice and it was fun to see her and Amy together.

Poor John had to work over Easter so the kids and I went over to celebrate at Mom and Dad's in Dallas. We went to Easter services at their church Saturday evening and then had a lazy Sunday morning hunting Easter eggs, etc. And then we were treated to a smoked turkey ala Dad. Yum!

I have been struggling with allergies for the past 3 months and made my way back to the doctor for my 3rd sinus infection on Monday. We are trying new medicines and I seem to be improving. If this doesn't work, the doctor said I'll need to go see an allergist. Yippee skippy...not!

I substituted yesterday for a kindergarten class in the afternoon. Hilarious, sweet, and like watching kids chase imaginary butterflies all day...ha! Tomorrow I substitute for a second grade class in the afternoon. Still really enjoying the substitute teaching.

Well, there you have it! Have a great week!

The Jacob Elliott Birthday Party Extravaganza...

Belated Blog Updates...I have not been good about updating the blog lately due to allergies and general busyness. Now back to the updates!

We had a rockin' great birthday party for me and Jacob on March 28th. We had a lot of family and friends over to help Jacob turn 8 and me turn 38. I'll post pics on a separate blog entry.

I got Julia enrolled in kindergarten last week so she is so excited to go to all day kindergarten at the same school as her big brother next fall.

We had 2 soccer stars in the family at Saturday's soccer games. Julia made 2 stops while playing goalie and Jacob made TWO goals at his game! Jacob was such a super star especially since this was only his second soccer game. He was so excited and proud but probably not half as excited as John was to see it all in person. They were both popping their buttons! Glad they are both enjoying it so much.

Sunday night we had a cookout at church. Luckily, due to the winds it was moved inside the church. Thank heavens! I can't take anymore wind. But we had really good hamburgers from Cheddars and huge bouncy houses for the kids to play on. Fun!

All in all, I think it has been a fun and busy week for the Elliott Family!
