So Behind...Wow! I am so behind. Julia was sick 2 days last week. Then a whirlwind of activity as John became the head coach of Jacob's YMCA baseball team. Our first games are this Saturday. But Jacob has been sick 2 days this week and will probably be out tomorrow since I feel the need to get him into the doctor and find out what is really going on. Same symptoms as Julia last week...ie. intermittent stomach ache, diarrhea, no fever, no vomiting. But it just lingers on and on. Time to get to the bottom of this stomach bug. I subbed at the kid's school today since I could make some money and also be right in the same building if kiddos needed me but with all the sickness/baseball/regular life...I am one tuckered puppy. I will post something perkier in the next few days. In fact I have a couple of really cute pics from when John took the kids to the Rangers baseball game last Friday night and from Julia's bday...my Big 6 year old! Wow! Good night everyone...what's that song...Good night, sweetheart, well it's time to go...

Whirlwind...This last week and a half has been a real whirlwind. Last week I substituted a couple of days and did some major cleaning and grocery shopping to get ready for my bunko group on Saturday night and John's birthday on Sunday. John was in recurrent training four days last week with the last day being on his birthday...the Big 4-0! Wow, when did that happen? Anyway, once he got home Sunday evening, we had a nice time opening presents, watching football, and enjoying a yummy steak and garlic mashed potato dinner followed with homemade birthday cake/ice cream. Didn't get much better for a tired man on his special day!

This week has been all about catching up on stuff and then I substituted again on Tuesday. Jacob got to have his good friend, Logan, over for a playdate yesterday. I'm looking forward to our neighborhood garage sale this week. I'm not selling this time around but I am scouting out a few treasures like lawn furniture, etc. Maybe we'll find a good deal. Wish me luck!

Julia's New Big Girl Room...Although John and I had been planning the re-painting of Julia's room for a while now, Mom and Dad offered to re-do her room for her 6th birthday coming up at the end of September. So Friday and Saturday, Mom and I worked like fiends and now Miss Julia has a beautiful Big Girl fairy room. It is so pretty, relaxing, and fun! So much better than that awful neon yellow room that she had been sleepy in. She already is loving spending time in her room. It really is SO cute!

Main Event...A week ago (yes, that is how far behind I am) John and I took the kids out to Main Event for some family bowling, games, and food to celebrate the successful end to the first week of school. We had a ball! However, my bowling skills were extremely rusty. I am much better at Wii bowling...ha!
