The Birthday Goes On...Julia's actual birthday was yesterday so John, Jacob, Julia and I loaded up in the minivan and headed to the Grapevine Mills Mall for a little dinner, carousel rides, and video games at Gameworks. The waiters even sung Happy Birthday to Julia. She thought that was cool but too loud. Ha! The horse race, motorcycle games, car race games, and skee ball (mom's favorite) were a big hit at Gameworks. John and Jacob even rode this ride that shoots you up into the air while you try to shoot stuff. I didn't really understand what they were doing but it looked fun. It was a really fun night!

Julia's 5th Birthday Party...On Saturday, we celebrated Julia's (5th), John's (39th), and Gramma's (?) birthdays at our house. We had a great time with family, friends, and some of our new neighbors. Unfortunately, my camera is still taking blurry pictures so I am posting a few but waiting to get copies of the pictures mom took. We were so thrilled that John's Dad is finally out of the hospital and that he and Carolyn could join us for the party. That gave us even more to celebrate! We noshed, ate pizza and cake, made beaded necklaces/bracelets, and just overall visited and played. It really was a great time! Julia got a fairy costume from MaMere/PaPere and GiGi/Carl that has been the hit ever since and is worn every day. I need to find a way to get some of the food stains out of it...ha!

Landon and Jack's Birthday Party...Two of Julia's friends from Pre-K had a joint birthday party on Sunday at The Little Gym. Jacob and Julia had a great time jumping on the springboard, walking on the balance beam, swinging from the rings and parallel bars. Tarzan and Jane! After all the play time, they enjoyed pizza and cake with friends. They had a ball and I enjoyed getting to know some of the other mom's from Julia's class better. It is hard to have much of a conversation when you are dropping off kids in the morning.

Now the count down is on for Julia's birthday party this Saturday. Lots to do...

A Family Visit...The kids and I had a really nice visit yesterday from my Dad and Diane. Had a little time to chat and for the kids to do show n tell with the new house. They love that. Plus, bonus for me is that they brought some of the decorating accessories that they had saved for me when they sold their house in OKC. It was so fun to be able to fix up the front entry hall and add a few other touches around the house. See the results...

Have No Fear...The world is safe from danger and bad guys! Have no fear, the red and pink Power Rangers are here!

(P.S. Notice how short Jacob's costume is on him. He refused to give it up. Money was well spent on the 2006 Halloween costume...ha! If you could see the back, he is busting out of it. Julia now sometimes wears it when Jacob is at school. She likes the built-in muscles. Funny Girl!)

Julia's First Day of School...After much anticipation and many days of "Mom, when do I start school?", yesterday was Julia's first day of school at her Pre-K. Unfortunately, my camera was not cooperating yesterday morning so I don't have that many clear pictures. But she was SO excited and like everything else Julia does...she jumped right in with both feet. Our gusto girl! She is a little confused by the M-W-F schedule but that will work itself out. And as a bonus, Daddy took both kids bike riding and to the play ground after school. Life is good!
